For squirrels and other rodents, set up an owl box. Having a friendly raptor settle there will liven up the neighbourhood and put the pests in their place. And once there's a couple, and then owlets, they'll gorge on squirrel meat like there's no tomorrow.

It's been said a few different ways, but growing your own food is one of the greatest revolutionary acts.

Also, I bet you can keep that kale going at least another month. Especially these days.

Epic T-shirt for a Substack entitled Weaponized Immigrant.

My daughter worked on our community farm all summer. Weeding, planting, harvesting, etc. She loved it and I sense she has a newfound appreciation for agriculture. She already has disdain for customers at the farm stand that ask for produce that's not in season.

And right now, I am planting bulbs of shallots & garlic to come up in the Spring (and just got 40 ginseng rootlets I am going to plant under a maple tree nearby).

One could also plant spring flower bulbs about now- Gives me a reason to live through the winter, regardless of the human based crapstorm...
