The issue of abortion was the root cause of many Roman Catholics taking on a whole basket of politics that were incompatible with other fundamental articles of their faith/culture/pre-existing politics, mainly in the 70's/80's when the issue had become completely partisan, rendering them into slavish hypocrites. By then many protestants had decided they were also going to be anti-abortion and they rode over the same waterfall. Great discussion, thanks.
