Philip K. Dick devotes quite a bit of this article discussing Zionism, which he equates with Nazism and comically refers to Zionists who he knows in real life as his “blood-oriented Jewish friends.”
I feel almost teary-eyed by the intellectual and emotional clarity of the PDK passage. Another thank you too to Yasha and Evgenia for their own writing (and artwork). I really appreciate how much you guys are able to introduce the particular which then evokes big themes. I find I always have a lot to chew on after reading this newsletter.
Disregard my deleted messages that I'm sure the SS owners can see. I'm happy to be an "oligarch" (only part of my life that I am), but it would also be nice to be able to pay more (or less as needed, but not as often) to support your writing. I don't suppose Patreon is a good idea???
In MLKs defence, Israel, Zionism, even the holocaust were barely discussed pre six-day war so 67, the Israel Lobby also develops a particularly hostile attitude to the civil rights movement (going by Finkelstein's account in Holocaust Industry). Pre ww2 and even slightly after the Zionism-Nazi analogy was also pretty common especially among working class Jews (so most Jews then) and to be a zionist was to be a 'Jewish-fascist' Quite literally the opposite today when anti-Zionists are kapos. Here's a good paper on the subject: sci-hub.se/10.1353/aq.2020.0019
Wow...what a find. Thanks Evgenia and Yasha 👍
