Getting away with it
Looking as how things stand now I can’t help but think that actually…yeah…Israel will probably get away with it. It wouldn’t be the first time in history. In fact, it’s usually the norm as far as genocide and mass slaughter goes. The bad guys get away with it.
My prediction is that Israel will finish what it started in Gaza, as it’s doing now with a new massacre everyday. Later it will start turning the screws in the West Bank, hoping to provoke some kind of attack that will help justify the same kind of treatment it dispensed in Gaza. My fellows Jews will feel emboldened, invincible…and then who knows what will happen. But as far as Gaza they’re gonna get away with it. Because the way things are configured now…letting it slide is in the interests of every power that’s involved. And as far as people and popular movements? Everyone has their own problems. I don’t see it at as top level priority for that many people. And already the movement here in the U.S. has run out of steam. It might resurface later but…I don’t think any kind of “accountability” is in the cards. America’s ruling class is too deeply involved in the genocide to allow accountability. So…
Yeah it’s grim and depressing. But that’s what the gods are telling me now. The gods have been known to be wrong…

I agree because, well, name one modern bourgeois state that hasn't "gotten away with it" when so many other bourgeois states line up behind it. I suspect something decisive will only happen if, like the fascist Axis powers, Israel "veers out of its lane" and pisses off enough those at the top.
(Remember: nothing happened to Franco and his goons until, what, the late 60s/early 70s? And even then it was only a gentle push out of power and >poof!< all the fascist scum miraculously disappear.)

Your "fellow Jews" aren't a monolithic bloc when it comes to Israel. In your post on the history of Zionism, you made an excellent point about its existence:

That this ideological weapon gets grabbed and wielded by (modern, right-wing) Jews from time to time has nothing to do with you (certainly not any more than you want it to be). That the weapon got taken up means it can be set down, taken away, buried, or destroyed. It can also be refused to be shoved into a hand that doesn't want to wield it.
The problem is not religion as such but rather how that particular tool gets used and by whom.
