The people of San Francisco are in for a treat. Evgenia’s short film Changemaker is gonna be screening at the Balboa Theater in the Outer Richmond on January 15th.
Best of luck with the film (and the grade in the MFA course)! If I am seeing things correctly, the whole film is available via Yasha's link to Vimeo w/ a ~20 minute run time? We'll watch it tonight.
Re: theaters, man I haven't worked up the courage to go see a movie in person since the pandemic started. My friends are really into sci-fi and they won't shut up about how much better "Dune" is on the big screen (Imax in this case).
it was already screened at her MFA program show two years ago when she graduated -- before the pandemic brought a lot of things to a halt.
yeah, it's tough with the omicron and all that. my sense is that going to a theater is safer than being in a bar with people drunk and yelling. at least people are quiet and aren't spreading their virus all over the place while watching a film.
Ah, I must've missed that. I take it the grade was good enough to graduate then!
As it happens, one of those friends I was talking about was texting me from a plane yesterday on his way back to Texas from Boston. He said the old guy behind him was coughing, sneezing and wasn't wearing a mask. I'm surprised nobody said anything, but I told him he probably has COVID now.
Congrats!
Congratulations to Evgenia!

BTW, I can't figure out how to remove the 'badge' from my avatar in the Substack profile section. Anyone know how to do that?
We are definitely going!
